How to exercise an opportunity to create an adventurous photographic exposition without undue aesthetic restraint yet retain narrative intelligibility? This photographic venture attempts just that through the presence of an unknown solitary model as a constant reference point. It is successful if wondrous locational diversity, dramatic blacks and whites, rich dynamic lighting (ambient and artificial)—in conjunction with varied post-production methods—never distract the viewer from the story’s unfolding. I show significance isn’t lost within the vastness of nature, nor absent there within civilization’s metonymic constraint, nor, with its eventual disappearance. I invite you to see now, as I then, saw.
Mark, my sincerest compliments on some wonderful images, well thought and well executed. It’s been a pleasure.
